Node B/Iub Simulator
         NodeB HSPA testing in product development
The NetHawk RNC/Iub Simulator supports 3GPP R6 NBAP, HS-DSCH and E-DCH frame protocol specifications required to test HSPA connections. The test cases can be incrementally developed by using flexible JScript language and NetHawk Simulator methods.



 

 

 

The Simulator emulates physical and link layers in Iub interface up to the RLC and SSCOP.

 

Test scripts take care of the ALCAP and NBAP signaling using the encoding and decoding libraries. Test scripts can utilize the NetHawk BER Tester to send a PN9 sequence or user defined fixed bit pattern as a payload for the HS-DSCH and E-DCH channels.


Development and testing of the NodeB HSDPA proceeds incrementally step by step:
1. The NetHawk RNC/Iub Simulator sends fixed pattern user plane data with a fixed data rate to the HS-DSCH.
2. The NodeB sends HS-DSCH capacity allocation messages to the NetHawk RNC/Iub Simulator. The Simulator reacts automatically to this request and starts sending user plane data to the HS-DSCH at requested data rate.
3. The Simulator sets ups HS-DSCH channels using NBAP commands without any NodeB management tools.
4. Testing the HS-DSCH channel with different kind on configuration parameters.
